The Ottawa RedBlacks and their fans got an unexpected gift Wednesday and they can thank the Toronto Blue Jays for the favour.
The Oct. 6 RedBlacks game with the Toronto Argonauts will be played at TD Place in Lansdowne Park because Toronto’s home field may be needed for a Blue Jay playoff game. The game was supposed to have been played in Toronto.
The Jays lead the American League East by three games with just nine games to go. The baseball season ends Sept. 26.
Tickets for the relocated RedBlacks game go on sale next week.
The RedBlacks themselves sit second in the CFL Eastern Conference with a 6-4 record, tied with Toronto but with a game in hand. They play the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina Saturday, before returning home to play Toronto on Sept. 26. That game is sold out.
