David Dubois, the 20-year-old man awaiting trial in the April 14 stairwell slaying of Tim Horton’s co-worker Connor Stevenson in an alleged drug deal gone wrong has been denied bail.
Dubois sat in the prisoner’s box and showed no emotion at the conclusion of his bail hearing on Wednesday afternoon. Ottawa police arrested Dubois hours after the slain 18-year-old student’s funeral.

Stevenson was stabbed to death in the stairwell on the sixth floor of a Jasmine Crescent apartment building in the city’s east end.
Stevenson’s mother raised her hands in prayer when Dubois was denied bail.
Dubois, who has no criminal record, is charged with second-degree murder. No trial date has been set.
