Ottawa police say charges will be laid after they identified the suspect wanted in a vicious OC Transpo bus beating.
A public appeal was made by police Friday afternoon for witnesses who were on the OC Transpo bus at the time of the assault.
Police said the assault happened on Sept. 11 at 1:13 a.m. on an OC Transpo No. 95 on southbound Woodroffe Avenue near the Fallowfield station.
The assault was videotaped and later posted on Youtube, showing what sounded like a heated discussion between two men before one repeatedly punched the other in the face. The victim was sitting at the back of the bus when the other man confronted him.
The video was posted with the caption “The next person to fight Mayweather,” likely referring to retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Following the attack, the victim’s head was down and he appeared disoriented in a second video posted on social media.
“This guy’s sleeping,” said a man videotaping the assault.
