Ottawa police have charged a 30-year-old man in connection with seven convenience store robberies in Kanata.
The robberies at convenience stores on Teron and Kakulu roads happened between July 23 and early Friday morning.
Police said the suspect wore a disguise and was armed with a knife. He usually left with cash and, in some cases, cigarettes and lottery tickets.
In a robbery on Sept. 7, the suspect led an employee to a room and forcibly confined him there until he fled the store.
On Friday, a man was arrested a short distance away from the scene of a convenience store robbery on Kakulu Road.
Steven Danielowitsch was charged with seven counts each of robbery, wearing a disguise and possession of a weapon, as well as forcible confinement and breach of probation.
