Ottawa police have charged a 30-year-old man in connection with an early morning pharmacy robbery in Orléans on Tuesday.
Police said a man wearing a mask entered the unnamed drug store in the 1900 block of Portobello Boulevard in Orléans at about 6 a.m. The suspect demanded prescription drugs and fled on foot when he was provided with a quantity of the drugs.
A man matching the thief’s description was apprehended a short time later by police officers responding to the robbery call. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
Duncan McCallum of Ottawa is charged with four counts of breach of probation, three counts of breach of recognizance, one count of robbery and one count of wearing a disguise. McCallum appeared in court on Tuesday and is expected to appear again Thursday.
