Ottawa police are hunting for a bandit with a distinctive countenance who robbed a Vanier corner store early Tuesday.
The white male, about 50 years old with a muscular build and moustache “and described as having a ‘long face,’ ” approached the counter in the store on McArthur Avenue with a coffee and a sandwich before producing a handgun and ordering the clerk to the floor, police said. The man then loaded cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets into a duffel bag and escaped.
Police released a security camera image of the robber and asked that anyone with information call the robbery unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
