Ottawa police have charged a 58-year-old Ottawa man after a taxi was damaged during a confrontation at Ottawa International Airport on Aug. 13.
Police said Thursday that a driver had picked up a fare on Airport Parkway Private — the roadway that surrounds the parkade at the arrivals level — around 4 p.m. and as he left he was surrounded and blocked by a number of people on foot and in taxis. The driver of one of the other taxis joined the group, causing damage to the complainant’s vehicle, police said.
Najil Mankal is charged with mischief over $5,000.
Police said their investigation was continuing and asked that anyone with any information about the incident to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police iOS app.
