An Ottawa-area pilot made an emergency landing in a Cantley farm field Sunday afternoon after developing a mechanical problem.
The 45-year-old pilot, accompanied by his father, was flying a plane that belonged to the Rockcliffe Flying Club when the mechanical trouble began about 4:30 p.m., said MRC des Collines Police Sgt. Dominic Gallant.
The man was able to find a field sufficiently wide and flat for him to safely land his Cessna aircraft. No one was injured and there was no damage to the plane.
