Police have charged a 43-year-old Ottawa Valley man with careless use of a firearm after a hunting accident that wounded a man near White Lake last weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police say a 23-year-old man from Wawa, Ont., suffered a non-life threatening injury when he was shot while hunting near White Lake, about 80 kilometres west of Ottawa, at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
On Tuesday, police said they had charged Jason Elvin Vaughan of McNab Braeside Township.
He is to appear in court on Oct. 26.
