Gatineau police set up a command post Wednesday to try to gather information about a man wanted for sexual assault on a young woman in the Mont-Bleu area last week.
Police say the attack occurred just after midnight on Sept. 23 when the woman was walking by herself near Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and Boulevard Riel. The victim was able to run away from her attacker during the struggle.
Last Friday, they released a sketch of the suspect and they are asking people to come forward if they heard or saw something in that area on Sept.23. Investigators will be on hand until 8 p.m. where the attack occurred to speak to the public about the isolated incident.
The man is described as white, 35 to 40 years old, 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall, around 150 pounds, dishevelled salt and pepper hair, earrings and big hands.
Anyone with information is asked to call Gatineau police at 819 243-2346 ext. 6677
