The Gatineau police anti-gang squad teamed up with Ontario Provincial Police to arrest a suspect in Clarence Creek Wednesday night after a raid earlier in the day yielded weapons and guns at a Gatineau residence.

Police raided a residence at 227 rue de Langelier in Gatineau at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, following a two-week investigation.

Police seized a .357-caliber handgun, a .300-caliber rifle, nearly 800 rounds of ammunition, brass knuckles, “shurikens” (ninja stars weapons), $1,760 in cash, about 1.6 kilos of marijuana, 14 grams of hashish and a small amount of cocaine.

No one was at the home when the raid occurred but a warrant was filed for a Gatineau man in relation to the items seized in the raid.

As a result of the warrant, a man was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police without incident at a traffic stop in Clarence Creek, about 40 kilometres east of Ottawa, at around 6:20 p.m.

Facing several charged related to possession of a weapons and narcotics is Jackson Clement, 27, of Gatineau. Clement is expected to appear in a Gatineau area court Thursday.
