A juror chosen for an Ottawa murder trial was dismissed on Thursday morning after he told the judge he had tickets to a Toronto Blue Jays playoff game next week.
“I’ve waited 20 years for a moment like this,” the juror wrote in a note to Ontario Superior Court Justice Patrick Smith.
Smith agreed to dismiss the Blue Jays fan and said, “”Hope you enjoy the game.”
The man had been selected on Tuesday to sit on the jury for the first-degree murder trial of Rene Goudreau.
He was replaced by an alternate juror.
