Ottawa – Families are invited to join Ottawa Public Health (OPH), in partnership with Breasts Out for Ontario Babies (BOOB) and community partners at the Parenting in Ottawa Breastfeeding Challenge to promote breastfeeding anytime, anywhere.

The Breastfeeding Challenge, which was launched in 2001 by the Quintessence Foundation as part of

World Breastfeeding Week, is a friendly competition that brings together mothers from around the world by challenging them to set the record for the most babies breastfeeding at one time.

The Parenting in Ottawa Breastfeeding Challenge celebration will include information booths, children’s activities, yoga, salsa and story time. OPH will also be launching the new Parenting in Ottawa Drop-ins, which offer space in the community where parents or guardians with children up to 6 years (including prenatal) can meet with a public health nurse to get in the know about becoming a new parent, their child’s growth and development, and local community resources.

Date: Saturday, October 3
Time: 9:30 a.m. – noon
Breastfeeding Challenge takes place at 11 a.m.
Location: Jean Pigott Place, City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
