For the second time in two months, a gas line outside the Ottawa Hospital’s General campus has been broken by construction equipment.
The hospital said the line was broken at 3:20 p.m. Friday in an area under renovation. The leak was capped 40 minutes later.
No evacuation was required and no injuries were reported. Para Transpo temporarily rerouted its drop-off location while repairs were made.
On Aug. 20, emergency crews converged on the Smyth Road hospital after a backhoe hit a gas line. The leak was repaired the same day.
