Police were searching a downtown Gatineau hotel Monday night for a man who reportedly shot a woman in a guest room.
Guests were told to leave the Four Points by Sheraton on Laurier Street after the shooting was reported shortly after 6 p.m.
“The police told me a man shot a woman. They said to stay outside so not to be struck by a bullet,” Joel Mueller, a guest at the hotel, said at 10 p.m.
Mueller said he has been outside since shortly after 8 p.m. and his friend was on lockdown in the hotel restaurant.
Lt. Paul Lafontaine of Gatineau police said one person was taken to hospital after being found in a room with a gunshot room. He did not have information on the victim’s condition.
