Ontario Provincial Police say a 17-year-old was killed when a carload of young people overturned Wednesday evening near the village of St-Bernardin, about 90 kilometres east of Ottawa.
Frederick Therrien of Hawkesbury was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at County Road 22 and Concession Road 8. Two other occupants were sent to an Ottawa hospital — one with life-threatening injuries — while another three went to a local hospital with less serious injuries.
Police say the vehicle left the county road after a curve, rolled over in the ditch and came to rest on its side on the concession road. Responders found some occupants had been ejected from the vehicle.
OPP collision specialists continue to investigate.
