An Ottawa man had two vehicles seized in one day after an arrest for impaired driving, say Ontario Provincial Police.
Russell County OPP said they were called to a crash involving a pickup truck on Highway 417 east of Ottawa just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 29. Police arrested the operator for impaired driving, a charge that brings an automatic licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Police said the man was released five hours later and drove to the impound yard in another vehicle to retrieve his belongings. Officers arrived and found that the man’s blood-alcohol levels were still above allowable limits. He was charged with driving with a suspended licence and his second vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Facing charges is Scott Beauregard, 33.
