One of three men arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in Kemptville Creek has been released pending trial.

Matthew Benoit, 30, of Ottawa, was granted bail Wednesday, Brockville court officials confirmed.

The body of Deepak Beaudoin-Reichmann, 27, of Ottawa was found Oct. 14 in an area east of Bishops Mills in North Grenville. The cause of death has yet to be disclosed but court documents suggest a drug overdose may have been responsible.

Benoit and two others — David Robert Lojk, 26, and Kyle Robert Clermont, 20, both of Ottawa — are charged with causing an indignity to a dead body and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Lojk and Clermont remain in custody. Clermont is to appear in court Friday, while a bail hearing for Lojk has been scheduled for Monday.
