A man wanted on fraud charges is in custody after surrendering to Ottawa police Thursday morning, police said.
Philip Slobodzian, 44, is charged with two counts of fraud under $5,000 and two of possession of the proceeds of crime.
On Wednesday, police released a photo of Slobodzian and asked for the public’s help in finding him.
The charges relate to an alleged construction scam where homeowners paid for roofing that was never done.
Police say a man went door to door to get roofing customers and collected deposits from them, but never did the work and ignored their phone calls.
