A 51-year-old man has been charged with counselling to commit murder and intimidation of a justice system participant after threats were made against an Ontario Provincial Police officer and their family.
OPP said they started an investigation at the Smiths Falls detachment on Sept. 10 into the threats that happened in another town.
Police would not release where the offence occurred, the gender of the officer or whether they had any connection to the accused.
Trevor Cooper, 51, from Griffith, Ont. was charged on Thursday with counselling to commit murder and intimidation of a justice system participant.
Cooper was scheduled to appear in Ottawa court on Nov. 16.
Police say the accused was already in custody on another charge.
