The City of Gatineau has issued an advisory for residents in a Buckingham neighbourhood to stop using municipal water sources.
According to the advisory, a contaminated substance has infiltrated the system in that area. The city would not specify what the substance is.
A total of 400 homes are believed to be affected.
The city plans to begin distributing bottled water at the Centre aquatique Lucien-Houle (580 A Rue Maclaren East).
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice from the city.
