Police say they have dismantled a drug trafficking network and arrested seven people after raids at five homes Wednesday in Buckingham, L’Ange-Gardien and MRC des Collines de l’Outaouais.
The search warrants were executed at the homes between 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. as part of an investigation called Project Ricochet.
Police seized 80 grams of marijuana, 21 methamphetamine tablets, three grams of hashish, just over five grams of cocaine, less than one gram of crack, documents and nearly $550 in cash.
Police said the investigation carried out by Gatineau police, MRC des Collines and the Sûreté du Québec began after they received information from the public about drug trafficking in the area.
Police arrested three women between the ages of 18 and 42 and four men between the ages of 21 and 62.
Two men and a woman appeared in court on Thursday, while the others were released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a later date to face drug trafficking and possession charges.
