An 86-year-old former boys’ choir organist from Cantley, Que., has been charged by Ottawa police with sexually assaulting a boy he gave private singing lessons to in his home in the 1960s.
Police said Monday that in July 2015, a man reported that a sexual assault occurred between 1966 and 1968 when the accused was an assistant organist with the Christ Church Cathedral.
Police would not say how old the boy was when the alleged sexual assault happened.
Gerald Wilkin, 86, is charged with indecent assault and gross indecency. He was to appear in court on Monday.
Police said they believe there could be other victims.
