Gatineau police closed off a section of the Hull sector near the jail Wednesday afternoon after they received a report of a man seen walking with a gun.
Officers rushed to the scene with a dog handler and as a preventive measure police established a perimeter and blocked traffic in the area of Alex-Taché Boulevard, St-François, St-Dominique and Gabrielle-Lacasse streets.
Despite the presence of nearby detention centre, there is no information linking the suspect to the centre. The investigation continues.
