An Ottawa man has been charged with criminal harassment after a two-year Sudbury police investigation into ” inappropriate communication” online.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service said it launched an investigation into a person who was using social media under a fake name to contact teenagers and a woman in her 20s.
Information from the two-year investigation led detectives to identify a suspect and locate him in Ottawa.
With the help of Ottawa police, a 28-year-old man was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant Tuesday in the nation’s capital.
The man was charged with three counts of criminal harassment and was to appear in Sudbury court on Thursday. Police have not released the man’s name.
