Young and old did not have to put on their day clothes Sunday morning, if they were headed for the Family Pyjama Party in the Capital event, held at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park.

Onesies, nightgowns and patterned pyjamas were well represented at the fun event — along with some cute slippers — which began with a morning stretch, storytime, face-painting and included visits (and hugs!) from mascots from the Ottawa Redblacks, Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Fury Football Club.

Other special attendees included the Glass Slipper Princess, who wore gowns instead of pyjamas to the delight of many young attendees.

Participants were asked to donate pyjamas, diapers, and other bedtime necessities (such as soap and shampoo) to help out the young disadvantaged population of Ottawa. Donations were to go to local groups Kanata Food Cupboard, Youville Centre and Bethany Hope Centre.

The event was organized by Kind Village and the Pyjama Patrol.
