Ottawa police charged a 25-year-old Ottawa man Friday with weapons offences after he was found with a loaded firearm.
The Guns and Gangs unit charged Khalid Abdi on Friday with several charges, including possession of a loaded firearm, careless storage of a firearm and drug possession.
The arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation and police said they would release no other information about the case.
There have been more than 42 shooting incidents in Ottawa this year, putting the city on pace to exceed the record 49 shootings in 2014.
