When fire broke out on Sunday night at the McDonald’s restaurant on St. Laurent Boulevard and Bourassa Street, just south of Innes Road, staff tried to fight it with a fire extinguisher.
But the blaze proved a too tough and Ottawa Fire Services were called at 11:37 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof at the back of the building and made quick work to bring it under control.
A fire investigator was dispatched to try to determine the cause of the fire. No damage estimate was available, and there were no injures, according to Ottawa Fire Services.
