Environment Canada is warning that the capital area and most of eastern Ontario and West Quebec can expect freezing rain beginning around lunchtime.
For now, the weather agency says it expects the freezing precipitation to change to plain rain by the evening as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Still, motorists are advised that untreated areas could remain very slippery.
Temperatures are expected to rise over the next 24 hours, with Wednesday’s high forecast at 7 C. Wednesday should also see rain or drizzle, with a 30-per-cent chance of showers in the afternoon.
