机场旁有个40 rooms motel拿到了permit,由那附近的land owner(是 Ogdensburg dodge的new car dealer)投资。
希望能给Ogdensburg 这个死气沉沉的小town带来一丝生机。

Allegiant air flights are set to take off from Ogdensburg International Airport in November 2016 after Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority officials approved its final design plans for its runway expansion project.
The Binghamton-based marketing firm McFarland-Johnson, Inc. signed a proposal with the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Friday to provide design, permitting and bidding services associated with the extension of the runway and land side improvements at the Ogdensburg International Airport at a total price tag of $664,163.
The news comes after the Federal Aviation Administration approved the expansion project Friday. The FAA’s stamp of approval was needed before work could begin on the $12 million project.
The 1,200-feet expansion will help accommodate Allegiant Air flights at the airport. The expansion is necessary, officials said, in order for Allegiant, which recently decided to offer flights from Ogdensburg, to land its planes.
Allegiant Air, based in Las Vegas, operates in 98 cities, including Plattsburgh and Syracuse, using planes that can seat 156 to 223 passengers, according to its website. The airline is owned by the Allegiant Travel Co.
Cape Air is the only airline now offering passenger service from Ogdensburg. Those flights go to Albany with connecting service to Boston are on nine-passenger Cessnas.
The Agreement with Allegiant allowing the company’s use of the terminal was finalized in May. The plan is to have the project complete by November 2016 in order to allow take off of Allegiant’s flights, Executive Director Wade Davis said Tuesday.
In order to accommodate the runway expansion, approximately 2,000 feet of Route 68 will be relocated and additional fencing will be added. The relocation of Route 68 will not impede traffic, Mr. Davis said.
“In addition to removing a safety concern at the crest of the existing hill on Route 68, the relocated roadway will be all on Authority property and will be designed to all appropriate design standards before being turned over to the state,” Mr. Davis said. “There will be no need to divert or reroute traffic as the new roadway will be built in close proximity to the existing road. The new fence will be along the new roadway.”
Officials are hoping the expansion will turn Ogdensburg International Airport into a regional hub for air travel, serving tens of thousands of passengers from the north country and Canada each year.
A project of this scale normally takes ten years, Mr. Davis said, but the Authority is completing it in two years.
“This is an excellent example of collaboration between the private and public sectors to create jobs and economic activity for the North Country,” he said. “In addition to the private-sector’s million dollar commitment, the Authority has over a million dollars committed to accelerate the project for the benefit of the North Country.”
