Residents in the national capital region and as far as Hawkesbury are being cautioned by Environment Canada of the possibility of freezing rain beginning late Sunday afternoon until Monday morning.
Freezing rain is expected to end late Monday morning as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark, according to the special weather statement.
The agency advises motorists to be aware of potential ice on untreated roads Monday morning. Pedestrians should also use caution on sidewalks.
The temperature for Sunday is expected to be a steady 0C, while temperatures should rise again to a high of six on Monday.
According to the seven-day forecast, temperatures should reach highs above 0C for the rest of the week, although the overnight lows are expected to dip below 0C beginning Wednesday evening.
