An ATM machine in Gatineau has supplied police with crystal-clear photos of two men suspected of trying to beat the security system and steal customers’ information.
Police say the men installed equipment to copy the information from customers’ cards at several ATMs belonging to the Caisse populaire Desjardins. The equipment also allowed them to record the PIN numbers that customers entered.
The attempts happened between Nov. 21 and 28.
One man is said to be 25 to 35 years old, with brown hair and beard and a grey winter coat. The other is aged 40 to 50, with a shaved head and a few days of scruffy beard growth. He wore a black coat and an Oakland Raiders cap.
Detective-sergeant Michel Morin wants to hear from you if you know either of them. He’s at (819) 243-2345, extension 6020, or (819) 246-0222.
