The operator of a double-decker Megabus that collided with a transport on Highway 401, injuring nearly two dozen passengers, has been charged with careless driving, Ontario Provincial Police said Monday.
Gary Graham, 64, of Lombardy, Ont., will appear in court in Cornwall in January, police said.
On June 23 the bus struck the rear of a tractor-trailer unit, went through a ditch and came to rest in a stand of trees beside the highway near Lancaster, about 26 kilometres east of Cornwall. Passengers, some with serious injuries, were taken to hospitals in Ottawa, Cornwall and Alexandria.
Rescue workers shade passengers after the collision on Highway 401. The bus had been carrying 45 passengers.
