Gatineau police were investigating a Wednesday evening dog attack that sent a young man to hospital with numerous bites.
According to police, the 19-year-old was visiting acquaintances in a townhouse at 2969 St. Louis St. at about 7 p.m. When he entered the home the dog, which police described as a pit bull, attacked.
The victim was bitten repeatedly, particularly his arms, and lost consciousness before the dog’s owner was able to pull the animal away.
Paramedics later took the to hospital where, after being treated for multiple injuries, he remained in stable condition.
The dog was removed by the SPCA.
Police were unable to say whether the dog’s owner would be charged.
