You’ll have to move quickly, but National Capital residents have an opportunity Friday to see a free performance by two choral groups whose video of a traditional Muslim song went viral worldwide.

The Canadian Museum of History booked the free concert by 150 singers from La Chorale De La Salle from Ottawa’s De La Salle High School and Le Groupe Allegro from École élémentaire public Séraphin-Marion after the overwhelming response to their YouTube video of a choral piece by Ottawa-based composer Laura Hawley of the traditional song Tala’ al-Badru ‘Alalyna.

The video, which also included singers from French public schools in Kingston, has now been seen by more than 1.2 million people worldwide.

Under the direction of Robert Filion, the singers will perform two 30-minute concerts featuring songs from various denominations and cultures at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday in the museum’s Grand Hall.
