A 38-year-old Ottawa man faces several charges in relation to a number of break and enters at homes, hair salons, nail salons and restaurants.
Ottawa police said patrol officers arrested Jason Chartrand on Dec. 14 on outstanding warrants following a residential break and enter in Blackburn Hamlet.
Police allege Chartrand targeted houses in Sandy Hill, Alta Vista and Blackburn Hamlet.
He faces five counts of residential break and enter and 21 counts of commercial break and enter, plus charges of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police say he remains in custody, and are asking that anyone with tips contact them at 613-236-1222, ext. 5104. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
