Ottawa police guns and gangs investigators are probing two early morning shootings, Saturday including one in which a woman was apparently accidentally shot by a bullet fired in an upstairs apartment.
The shooting occurred shortly before 5 a.m. at a low-rise apartment building at the intersection of Meadowbrook Road and Appleton Drive in the east end.
Police would not comment on reports that a gun was discharged accidentally and the bullet went through the floor, wounding the woman below.
By mid-afternoon, there were no reports of arrests and no word on the condition of the victim.
Meanwhile, the guns and gangs unit is also investigating reports of shots apparently fired at about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Station Boulevard and Blair Street in the area of the main train station.
There were no reports of injuries.
