An Augusta Township fisherman whose body was recovered from the St. Lawrence River Sunday has been identified as James Earl Kirkby, 48.
Ontario Provincial Police said Kirkby was one of three men in a small boat that overturned Saturday afternoon near Prescott. Two of the men were able to reach nearby Adams Island, but the third disappeared.
On Sunday afternoon, at about 1 p.m., the missing man’s body was spotted by an OPP helicopter.
