Toronto police were seeking three men Wednesday after a “brazen” robbery that killed a 25-year-old Toronto man who studied at the University of Ottawa.
Officers were called to the area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue in midtown Toronto just after midnight Tuesday night and found an injured man outside a bar.
Police said the man, who has since been identified as Zaher “Zack” Noureddine, died in hospital, the victim of a “very brazen robbery.”
Det. Jeff Allington said Wednesday there would still have been many people inside the bar and anyone with information was urged to come forward.
A LinkedIn account and Facebook profile page for Zack Noureddine identifies the 25-year-old as a Montreal native and former University of Ottawa student who majored in communications starting in 2011.
Police were also asking anyone with security camera recording of the area to contact them. Police said the suspects wore “dark clothing” and fled in a light-coloured, four-door sedan.
