Firefighters in an inflatable boat rescued a dog that fell through ice into the Jock River Thursday afternoon, the Ottawa Fire Service reported.
The dog suffered no lasting effects and was returned to its owner at the scene.
The incident happened between Prince of Wales Drive and Jockvale Road.
Most waterways in the region have either open water or very thin ice.
