Two women and one man are out of a home after a fire at 691 Bank St., which saw around 30 people evacuated as temperatures dipped down into the double digits.
Ottawa fire received a 911 call reporting a bedroom fire at the apartment building, just north of Glebe Avenue on Bank Street, shortly after 3 a.m. The fire was kept in the one room, firefighters said, and was extinguished by 3:30 a.m. Damages are estimated at $100,000 to the building and $50,000 to its contents.
Nobody was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Victim services is responding for those who are displaced, and OC Transpo is providing shelter for those who were evacuated.
