Former CBC star and ex-Power & Politics host Evan Solomon will be the host of a new afternoon show on Ottawa radio station NewsTalk 580 CFRA.
The station carried the announcement on air and on Twitter late Tuesday afternoon. Solomon, 47, will host Afternoon Edition, a daily show that currently runs for a four-hour block between 2 and 6 p.m.
The former host of Afternoon Edition, Rob Snow, will be taking over the morning broadcast from retiring on-air man Lowell Green.
Solomon will host the daily afternoon show and on Wednesdays will broadcast live from City Hall. Solomon’s new show is scheduled to begin next week.
The news of Solomon’s new gig came the same day that his former employer CBC announced that Rosemary Barton, who had been made interim host of Power and Politics, will be the permanent host of the flagship show.
