An apartment building was evacuated after carbon monoxide levels set off alarms Wednesday night.
The manager of the building at 2716 Richmond Rd. called firefighters just before 5 p.m.
According to an Ottawa Fire Services news release, a company was cleaning the garage floor with their vehicles and a “propane-fired hot water cleaner” running in the building all day.
Firefighters determined that caused a very high carbon dioxide reading of 75 parts per million.
All 80 occupants were given shelter in OC Transpo buses while firefighters monitored the carbon dioxide levels.
No one needed treatment by paramedics.
