A Gatineau police officer was taken to hospital for examination Friday night after his cruiser spun out of control and crashed into a snowbank while pursuing a vehicle on Boulevard des Allumettières in the Vieux-Hull sector.
Police said the officer, whose name was not released, was in pursuit of a suspect following a radar stop.
The officer was transported to a hospital, but was released without injury shortly after being admitted.
The police vehicle was severely damaged during the incident.
As for the suspect vehicle, Lt. Caroline Paul said it was unclear whether the driver knew he was being pursued.
The driver continued on his way. There were no arrests.
