The guns and gangs unit is investigating after a person known to police came into the Elgin Street headquarters to report their home being shot up days ago.
The person did not report the incident until Friday but police said the shooting is alleged to have occurred on Jan. 5 in the 300 block of Prince Albert Street in the Overbrook neighbourhood.
Police found evidence of two bullets having been fired into the front window of the home, though they received reports of between four and five gunshots being fired. No one was injured in the incident.
One person did call police at the time of the shooting reporting what they thought might have been gunfire. At the time, patrol officers were unable to find evidence of a shooting.
It’s the city’s third shooting in 2016.
