Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in locating a suspect in connection with an assault early on Christmas Eve day in which a man punched a man in the face at a Clarence Street business, causing serious injuries.
Central district investigators said the assault occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on Dec. 24. The victim, 23, left the scene and went to hospital before the arrival of police.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 35 years of age, five feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds and English speaking.
Police have also released a security video showing the suspect.
Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call Det.-Sgt. Constantini at Ottawa police central district investigation unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5635. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
