Officers from the Leeds County OPP detachment broke into a car at a Trans-Canada Highway rest stop near Mallorytown Tuesday night to rescue an Ottawa man with an undisclosed medical condition.
Police had been alert by Ottawa Police Service of the potential medical emergency and OPP located the man’s car at the westbound rest stop near Mallorytown, about 130 kilometres from Ottawa.
The man, 43, was unresponsive and officers smashed the window to get in. Paramedics treated the victim and transported him to hospital in Brockville.
Police did not release the man’s identity or information on his condition.
