If you are planning to take public transit between now and Monday you better load your Presto card by the end of the day Wednesday.

Presto — the electronic fare payment system used in Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa — confirmed it is planning to upgrade its central operating system over the weekend and therefore the Presto website will be unavailable from Friday to Monday.

Customers will still be able to use their Presto card to pay transit fares. And they’ll be able to load funds at a Presto customer service outlet or self-serve reload machine during the upgrade.

“Customers should complete necessary online transactions on the Presto website by January 13, 2016, to ensure they have enough funds to travel over the weekend of January 16th and 17th, 2016, when Presto is making upgrades to its system,” said a statement on the company website.

The company says all services will be restored by early Monday morning.
