With colder weather moving in Monday, Ottawa Public Health has issued a frostbite advisory.
Temperatures are expected to fall throughout the day, reaching –15 C by late afternoon. Along with 30-km/h winds, that’s expected to produce a wind chill of –25. Exposed skin can freeze in less than 10 minutes when the windchill dips to –28.
Lows overnight Monday are forecast to dip to –21 C before recovering to –9 on Tuesday. Typical January weather is expected for the rest of the week, with highs in the –5 to –8 range, and lows between –13 and –16.
