A dog was being treated at an emergency veterinary clinic on Saturday evening after being shot once by Ottawa police.
At about 4 p.m., police responded after receiving several calls about an aggressive dog trying to attack pedestrians in the area of York Street and Beausoleil Drive.
No members of the public or any of the emergency responders were injured in the incident. The Ottawa Humane Society has been notified and the owner of the dog relinquished ownership.
